PIKEVILLE – This week, Jenny Wiley Theatre begins a new series in the Pikeville location. JWT has excited to announced the Second Saturday Comedy Series with the premier this Saturday night beginning at 7:30 p.m.
“We want this to become a reoccurring event at JWT and invite everyone to attend the show this week,” said Executive Director, Martin Childers.
The proceeds will go towards the support of Jenny Wiley Theatre’s Footlights Theatre Program. The Theatre has specifically selected comedians that are appropriate to the sensibilities of our region and audiences can expect this to be a lighthearted, fun event.
This week, the series will feature the inspiring Mack Dryden. His stories of surviving two battles with cancer, a stay in an African prison, “sharks in showbiz who stab you in the front,” and one “near-fatal marriage” are as inspiring as they are laugh-out-loud funny. He’s been delighting audiences for years with his relaxed stage presence, hilarious material, and uniquely engaging delivery. As a comedian, he’s performed on dozens of TV shows, including The Tonight Show with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. As an actor he’s appeared in several movies and on many other TV shows, including JAG and a recurring role as a judge on ABC’s The Guardian.
The show starts at 7:30 pm and tickets are only $15. To make reservations, patrons can call 877-CALL-JWT or book online at www.jwtheatre.com.
