HI HAT – Following an investigation by the Floyd County Sheriff’s department an arrest was made this week in the vandalism of the South Floyd football field.

On Tuesday, October 13, Deputy Sheriff Landon Hall wrapped up his investigation and arrested 18-year-old Dalton Boone Frasure of Frasures Creek in McDowell in connection with the vandalism that occurred on the South Floyd Football Field on October 4.

Unreleased surveillance video allegedly showed Frasure pulling a car onto the football field at 1:00 a.m. The vehicle drove all over the field leaving deep tracks in it’s wake.

Frasure was charged with one county of second degree criminal mischief, and one count of third degree criminal trespassing.

Frasure is currently lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center. A court date has not yet been set.

South Floyd is under the guidance of first-year head coach Chad Hall. Following the vandalism, Hall said that several members of the community had pitched in to help repair the damage. The team played away last week and the destruction to the field did not cause the team to lose any home games. South Floyd will resume play at home this Friday against Hazard, and again at home next week against Phelps.
