Two arrested in possession of mobile meth lab

AUXIER – Two women were arrested Saturday in Auxier after reports of a mobile meth lab were received by the Floyd County Sheriff’s office.

According to sheriff’s officials, on Saturday October 24, a green 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier was located in the Auxier community of Floyd County with what an anonymous caller described as a meth lab inside of the vehicle.

Sheriff John Hunt states that his deputies located the vehicle on KY 321 near the entrance to Auxier and initiated a vehicle stop. During a search of the vehicle, deputies did find an in-active lab in the trunk which contained all the ingredients or pre-cursors used in the manufacturing of meth including: cooking utensils, propane gas, lithium batteries, packages of Sudafed, cold packs, and liquid drain opener.

Deputies also discovered a white crystal like substance believed to be crystal meth along with marijuana, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies took the driver and her passenger into custody and charged the pair with a number of charges. The pair were charged with the following:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
  • Possession of controlled substance first-degree
  • Unlawful possession of meth precursor
  • Unlawful possession of marijuana
  • Illegal possession of legend drug
  • Wanton endanger first-degree
  • Tampering with physical evidence
  • Operating on a suspended license
  • As well as, four outstanding warrants

Sheena Tackett:

  • Manufacturing meth first-degree
  • Unlawful possession of meth pre-cursor
  • Possession of a controlled substance first-degree
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Tampering with physical evidence
  • Illegal possession of legend drug
  • Wanton endangerment first-degree

Both Tackett and Robinson were lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center following their arrest. They appeared in Floyd County District Court on Monday for arraignment. A preliminary hearing date was set for November 2 at 1:30 p.m. Robinson and Tackett each had their bail set at $10,000 full cash.
