Job fair set for Thursday at Jenny Wiley State Park

PRESTONSBURG – Job seekers in Eastern Kentucky will have the opportunity to apply for jobs with multiple employers during an upcoming job fair hosted by Big Sandy Area Community Action Program, in conjunction with Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program (EKCEP), Kentucky Career Center JobSight, and corporate sponsor GMS Mine Repair & Maintenance. The job fair will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jenny Wiley State Park Convention Center in Prestonsburg.

More than two dozens employers are scheduled to attend, including GMS Mine Repair & Maintenance, which has operations in Northern West Virginia, Alabama, Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Additional employers include Gearheart Communications, Kentucky Department of Corrections, Pikeville Medical Center, Servpro, Zip Zone Express and Pepsi

Company officials will be present during the job fair, so job seekers should be prepared to interview for open positions, and also bring an up-to-date résumé, social security card and a valid driver’s license.
