HAROLD – Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post, is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Floyd County on Wednesday evening.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Charles Salisbury, 24 years old of Harold, was traveling south on KY Route 979 in the Harold community of Floyd County. The motorcycle operated by Salisbury crossed into the north bound lane, colliding with a GMC pick-up truck driven by Danny Hall of Harold. Salisbury suffered fatal injuries in the collision, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson.
Evidence at the scene indicates Salisbury was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, and alcohol is a possible contributing factor.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Kentucky State Police. The collision is under investigation by Post 09 Collision Reconstructionist Trooper John Dixon.
