Hueysville man arrested after pursuit

EASTERN – A Floyd county man was arrested after fleeing from police in the early morning hours Wednesday.

According to police records, Jorden Lewis, 20, of Hueysville, was traveling on Kentucky Rt. 550 when a police cruiser attempted to stop him for in accurate plates.

The officer stated in the report that after he activated his blues lights, Lewis attempted to flee, and that during the pursuit, Lewis “drove through several yards.”

Lewis abandoned his vehicle at the head of Plummer Fork and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended.

In the report, Officer Dennis Hutchinson said the plates on the vehicle came back to a red truck. “The vin number on the truck he was driving came back to a 97 Chevy SUV, subject did not have the right tags of insurance on the truck.”

According to the police report, Lewis was charged with two counts of fleeing and evading police, reckless driving, failure to maintain insurance, no registration plates, no registration receipt, no operators license, failure to wear seat-belt, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
