Arrest made after home break-ins

PRESTONSBURG – A series of home break ins were the focus of an investigation that led to an arrest Last Thursday.

According to Floyd County Sheriffs Officials, on Thursday, November 21, Sheriff deputies received complaints from residents in the Stumbo Subdivision of Prestonsburg that several homes had been broken into by a man reportedly searching for medications to steal.

When Deputy Ralph Frasure arrived in the subdivision, he encountered a male subject, later identified as Brandon Perkins, age 29. Perkins reportedly fled on foot when spotted by the deputy.

In his attempt to elude police, Perkins forced himself into a house occupied by three juvenile children. Additional deputies arrived and entered the residence where Perkins was hiding. He was arrested without altercation.

Perkins was arrested and charged with public intoxication, fleeing and evading in the second-degree, criminal trespassing, first-degree (3 counts), burglary in the third-degree, and criminal trespassing (2 counts).

Perkins was transported to Highlands Regional Medical Center and then later the Floyd County Detention Center.

The case is still under investigation by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department and Deputy Ralph Frasure. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
