PRESTONSBURG – A new theater at Riverview HealthCARE which opened this week is bringing the big screen and glee to its elder community.
The Riverview Theater opened this week to rave reviews, and is showing a positive improvement on the community.
“Today was a great day for Riverview HealthCARE,” said Chaplain Phillip Ramey, Director of Spirituality-Riverview HealthCARE. “Our mission is to radically change landscape of healthcare forever, and today we reached another milestone in that journey.”
The much anticipated opening the new Riverview Theater was held this week and according to officials, the theater is a progressive effort to enhance the community for the elders it serves.
“Our community has already celebrated the opening of our Mugg-Z Café, Fred Harris Memorial Library, and also has a post office, barber shop/beauty salon, and a community chapel. Now we have a real movie theater that can be enjoyed by our elders, care partners, and families,” said Ramey.
The first showings were voted on and chosen by the elders in the community during the grand opening event. “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman” was a double feature.
“It was certainly a fun evening and there will certainly be more entertaining evenings to come at the Riverview Theater.”
