PRESTONSBURG – A Meally man was arrested last week after reportedly being involved in an assault and robbery.
According to court records, an arrest warrant was issued for Christopher Jason Skeens, 33, of Meally, after he was identified as the perpetrator responsible for a robbery and assault of Edgar Brown Jr.
In the report, Kentucky State Police Trooper John Gabbard states,”Skeens was identified by three separate victims/witnesses as the person who unlawfully entered the home of Edgar Brown Jr. and struck him multiple times with steel knuckles, threatened all with a firearm, while demanding money to stop hurting Edgar Brown.”
According to the report, two other victims were in the home including a three-year-old juvenile. It was also noted that two neighbors also responded to assist and were also allegedly threatened with a firearm.
Skeens was charged with burglary in the first-degree, assault in the second-degree, unlawful imprisonment in the first-degree (2 counts), wanton endangerment in the first-degree (6 counts), and robbery in the first-degree.
According to court documents, Skeens has been convicted of two previous felony offenses; one within the last five years. He was additionally charged with one count of being a persistent felony offender.
During his arraignment on November 25, court records indicate Skeens was being held in Johnson county. An order was given to transport to Floyd County Detention Center by Judge Eric D. Hall.
