PRESTONSBURG – Members of various first response agencies were hosted at Riverview HealthCARE Center as staff members and the elder community they served recognized local law enforcement earlier this week.
On Wednesday, staff members opened up the doors to dozens of First Responders for “Law Enforcement Appreciation.” Phillip Ramey, Director of Spirituality said that the center wanted to recognize members of their local law enforcement. “It is certainly a very dangerous position in which brave men and women make sacrifices and put themselves in harm’s way each and everyday to make sure our communities remain safe,” said Ramey.
Ramey said that the sacrifices made by law enforcement is far too often overlooked. “As we continue in our Christmas celebration here at our Riverview home, today we held our Christmas “Law Enforcement Appreciation” breakfast,” Ramey added. “It was a great time as we all came together to honor these hometown heroes.”
Members of the city, county, and state police were in attendance, as well as fire department, Department of Transportation, and Prestonsburg Mayor Les Stapleton.
Riverview works year around to help bring the community together with the elder community it serves, hosting various events, and movies, and even operating a restaurant.
