PRESTONSBURG – A young Prestonsburg man lost his life this weekend after being involved in a two-car collision just outside the city.
A Kentucky State Police investigation is underway after a fatal collision occurred in Floyd County during the evening hours of Sunday, February 07, 2016. According to investigators, Goldsmith Hercule was traveling on KY Route 114 in the Prestonsburg community of Floyd County when the vehicle he was operating crossed into the oncoming lane, colliding with a vehicle operated by Jeffery Arnett.
Kevin Marsillett, 19, of Prestonsburg, was a passenger in Hercule’s vehicle, and was transported by EMS to Highlands Regional Medical Center before being flown to University of Kentucky HealthCare. Marsillett was pronounced deceased at UK HealthCare due to injuries sustained in the collision.
Evidence at the scene indicates Marsillette was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.
Funeral arrangements for Marsillett have been made with Nelson Frazier Funeral Home. The service will be conducted Thursday February 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home Chapel in Martin.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 09 and the collision is under investigation by Trooper John Gabbard.
