Saint Joseph Martin to host Go Red for Women Heart Health Luncheon

MARTIN — Saint Joseph Martin, part of KentuckyOne Health, and the American Heart Association will host a Lunch & Learn Series Event on Friday, Feb. 26 at the Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in honor of Go Red for Women.

The event will feature Angela O’Quinn, MD, of KentuckyOne Health Primary Care Associates, and will provide valuable information about heart health in recognition of American Heart Month.

Dr. O’Quinn’s presentation entitled, “Let’s Talk About Your Heart Ladies!” will present information on the signs, symptoms and prevention of heart attacks in women. A complimentary lunch will be provided for those in attendance.

Heart disease is not only the number one killer of women in the United States, but also the number one killer of women in Kentucky. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease takes the lives of more women than all forms of cancer combined.

The American Heart Association created Go Red for Women to raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women and to reduce the overall death toll caused by heart disease.

The event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, located at 75 Theatre Court in Prestonsburg. Guests are asked to register for the free event by Feb. 20.
