PRESTONSBURG – The Prestonsburg Police Department received a telephone call about a missing or runaway juvenile on Tuesday. It was reported that a 14-year-old female had not been heard from for the previous 24 hours.

The caller stated the teenage girl had went to a friend’s home the previous day after school and did not show up for school on Tuesday.

After investigation it was determined the juvenile was in the company of Tyler Thacker, a 24-year-old from Banner. Police contacted the juvenile at Thacker’s home. She agreed to turn herself in to the Prestonsburg Police Department to be reunited her parents. The missing girl, however, never showed up at the police station.

Thacker fled with the juvenile to Randa Thacker’s home in Betsy Layne. According to police documents, Randa Thacker was questioned about the location of the juvenile and advised police that neither individual was at her residence.

Through further investigation, both the juvenile and Thacker were located in a bedroom at Randa Thacker’s residence. Tyler Thacker and Randa Thacker were both arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center and the juvenile was returned to her home.
