PRESTONSBURG – Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb has announced that seven Floyd County head start classrooms have received district and regional recognition for being exceptional classrooms.

“The board team and I are proud of these teachers, teacher assistants, family service workers and the education consultant for working together and achieving this honor of excellence,” Webb said. “Classrooms at Betsy Layne Elementary, Duff Elementary, Osborne Elementary, Prestonsburg Elementary, Stumbo Elementary and two classrooms at Allen Elementary have been recognized as being top in our district and region. These teams work hard together to ensure our youngest kids are getting an excellent beginning in their educational careers and we thank them for doing whatever it takes for kids.”

Allen Elementary A Team: Tammy Gearheart, Jessica Partin, family advocate Jennifer Woods, regular education consultant Kim Grubb and special education consultant Teresa Newsome.

Allen Elementary B Team: Jessica Kiser, Mika Hampton, family advocate Jennifer Woods, regular education consultant Kim Grubb and special education consultant Teresa Newsome.
