May Valley sweeps team titles at Regional Governor’s Cup

PRESTONSBURG – Floyd County Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb has announced the results of the Region 34 Governor’s Cup competition for elementary academic teams held at Cordia Elementary in neighboring Knott County on Saturday.

“Congratulations to May Valley Elementary for sweeping first place in all team categories,” Webb said. “Congratulations to Osborne Elementary for placing second in quick recall and to Duff for placing second in Future Problem Solving. We’re proud of our kids for doing so well in all areas of the regional competition.

“The board team and I want to thank our students, coaches and parents for their hard work and dedication to academics. Our kids at all levels of academic competition are more and more successful and that is thanks to our people.”
