Martin Police Dept. sets up fundraiser to help stray animals

MARTIN – The Martin Police Department has taken to the Worldwide Web to raise funds for animal rescue. City of Martin patrolman Michael Napier has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to assist the police department with a goal of $500 to cover the expense of two recently rescued animals. Any funds left over from the fundraiser will go to the care of future animals.

Last month, the department rescued a dog that had been chained outside. The dog was malnourished and on the verge of death. The owner of the dog was charged with cruelty to animals and the dog was nursed back to health in a foster home.

Anyone wishing to get involved and help can visit the Martin Police Department’s GoFundMe page at gofundme.com/hpteggrt or follow the link that is currently available on the Martin Police Department’s Facebook page.
