PRESTONSBURG – Members of Auxier Freewill Baptist Church entertained residents of Riverview Health Care Center on Friday. Members of the church make attempt to visit once a week to sing hymns, worship and visit with residents. Many residents are not able to leave the facility. Having outside guests come in and entertain them breaks up the time spent alone at the center.

Riverview Health Care Center administration and members of the staff work hard to plan activities ranging from singing events to movie nights. Recently, the center took a group of residents to the 99th Annual Boys’ Sweet Sixteen. Another event residents are looking forward to is Rumble on the River wrestling event.

Events are only one of the ways Riverview Health Care Center tries to ensure a quality of life for its residents. Patty Huffman, the manager of Muggz Café, whips up tasty food for the residents of Riverview Health Care Center. Muggz Café is located inside Riverview Health Care Center and affords residents the amenities of a local café in town.
