Job fair to be held on BSCTC’s Prestonsburg campus

PRESTONSBURG – Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC), the Kentucky Coal Academy, the East Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc. (EKCEP), Big Sandy Area Community Action Program and Kentucky Career Center will hold a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, on the Mayo campus of BSCTC.

“We are very proud to work with EKCEP, Big Sandy Community Action Program and the Kentucky Career Center to bring this job fair to the people of our region,” said Kelli Hall, interim dean of career education and workforce development at BSCTC. “We feel we have a highly-trained and skilled workforce that is ready to go to work.”

Sandy Grimm, a career advisor with Big Sandy Community Action Program, said more than 20 employers will participate in the event.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone who is seriously looking for work,” Grimm said.

“We’re thrilled that we have so many employers that are participating and actively seeking qualified workers.”

Kelly Services will be on hand at the event representing Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Kentucky. Other companies who have confirmed their attendance include: Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Bob Evans of Paintsville and Pikeville, Buffalo Wild Wings, Calgon Carbon, Carl D. Perkins Job Corps Center, Community Trust Bank, Double Kwik, Food City of Pikeville, Hitachi Automotive Systems, HR Block, Highlands Regional Medical Center, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, Manpower of Central Kentucky, Manpower of Prestonsburg, Mountain Comprehensive Care Center, Mountain Manor, Pikeville Medical Center, Teleworks USA, TransAmerica, U.S. Bank, and United States Penitentiary – Big Sandy.
