Staff Report

PRESTONSBURG – King’s Daughters Family Care Center Prestonsburg will host an open house with free screenings from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 and the public is invited.

Available screenings include blood pressure/hypertension, diabetes and total cholesterol. No appointment is needed. King’s Daughters Prestonsburg is located at 1279 Old Abbott Mountain Road.

Health is the foundation that makes dreams possible. Staying healthy takes effort: eating well, getting physical activity and getting regular checkups and preventive health services. “We’re excited to invite the community to visit our centers,” said Lisa Ashley, primary care team leader.

Primary care is the cornerstone of healthy people, families and communities. Research shows that people who have a primary care provider are, overall, healthier and live longer lives. “We hope people who don’t have a primary care provider will take advantage of this opportunity to meet our team and establish with a primary care provider,” Ashley said.

KDMS Prestonsburg providers include Ashley Adams, D.O., Clayton Bowman, D.O., and Roger Jurich, M.D. Hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday though Thursday and 8 a.m. to to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. Available services include: online access to medical information and more through MyChart; on-site lab and X-ray; CT, cardiac testing, EMG/NCV, mobile mammography, ultrasound and vascular testing; same-day appointments and walk-ins; electronic prescription management and care 24/7 nurse triage services.

New patients are welcome. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call the center at (606) 886-1260.
