PRESTONSBURG – Kettlebells are everywhere these days in the fitness world. From magazines to internet articles to TV shows. Originally from Paintsville, Shafer is now a college professor in Humanities and lives in Germany. She has trained with the top kettlebell instructor in the United States Master RKC Michael Krivka. Shafer has hard style kettlebell and progressive calisthenics certification from Dragon Door Institute of Fitness. This certificate represents a “Black Belt” in kettlebell instruction. She is also certified as a strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. It will enable participants to do an intensive workout whenever, wherever they are.

Dr. Sara Chava Teresa Shafer of TEVA Muscle Academy and Pro Fitness of Prestonsburg is offering an introductory kettlebell workshop on Sunday, May 1st at 1:00pm. Shafer will be instructing the workshop and will concentrate mainly on developing skill and confidence in 3 different basic kettlebell drills which include: Swing, Goblet Squat, and Getup.
