Little Shop of Horrors runs July 2-August 1 at Jenny Wiley Theatre in Prestonsburg. One of the longest-running off-Broadway shows of all time, this affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies has become a household name thanks to a highly successful film version. In this comedy, floral assistant Seymour becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant that soon grows beyond his wildest expectations. Little Shop of Horrors is a hilarious musical to savor for anyone who loves oldies-style tunes and tongue-in-cheek humor.
The opening night kickoff event for Little Shop of Horrors including barbeque dinner and backstage tours is on Friday. You will want to come on this special night to get your backstage pass and see the giant plant in the show which “grows”, “talks”, and—(gulp)—“eats”!
