PRESTONSBURG – The Floyd County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, April 11 to welcome new chamber member Anglers Bait-N-Tackle. Owner Kaleb Rodebaugh, chamber chairperson Rick Hughes and several other chamber representatives and community members took part in the event.
In July 2015, Rodebaugh purchased the bait shop located on 314 Lake Road near Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. The business was formerly owned by his grandparents, Brenda and Freddie Burchett, who opened the bait shop in 1996. The store had been empty for several years before Rodebaugh purchased it. Rodebaugh and his family have been working hard to remodel and reopen the bait shop.
Anglers Bait-N-Tackle has a diverse selection of live bait which includes minnows for crappie and bass, Israeli carp, shiners, goldfish, night crawlers, wax worms, meal worms, super worms, red worms, crickets and chicken liver.
Anglers Bait-N-Tackle sells hunting and fishing licenses, fishing poles, fishing accessories and offers an assortment of snacks. Rodebaugh has plans that will make the bait shop a must-visit destination for both professional and amateur anglers fishing the surrounding lakes, ponds and rivers.
During the fishing season, the shop opens at 6 a.m. and is open Monday through Saturday until 8 p.m. and Sunday until 6 p.m. To contact Anglers Bait-N-Tackle, call (606) 886-1335 or (606) 506-5062.
