NASHVILLE – Josh Martin is a local talent many of us remember from his days on the hardwood playing for Allen Central High School. Today, Martin resides in Nashville with his wife Alicia and daughter Annabelle, where he recently inked a worldwide publishing deal with Sony/ATV.
“I was working in accounting in Louisville and making a living,” said Martin. “It was something that paid the bills but was not something I could see myself doing for the rest of my life.”
With the urging of his wife, Martin packed up his family and guitar and made his way to Nashville in 2013. It didn’t take long for people to take notice of the ‘Tina at the Teardrop Inn singer.” An avid musician and strong vocalist, Martin has made his way around the Mid-South, fronting both country and rock bands, making fans and gaining experience in front of crowds. Once in Nashville, Martin met Carole-Ann Mobley of CAM Creative Services.

Mobley’s impressive resume includes Vice-President A & R at Warner Music Nashville, where she signed standouts Brett Eldredge and Frankie Ballard, and Senior Director A & R at Sony Music Nashville. Mobley was quick to take notice of the young singer. It was under her management and guidance, Martin was able to meet executives at Sony/ATV.
“There was an overwhelming feeling of joy and excitement when Carole-Ann and I met with the Sony/ATV team for the first time,” said Martin. “Now, going to work everyday in Music City knowing that I have some of the most well-respected and experienced professionals on my team is a huge motivation for me to continue to hone my craft and strive for great things! I’m super excited to see what the future has in store for us and am confident that with CaroleAnn and Sony/ATV working together, there will be no boundaries.”
“I’m incredibly excited to get to partner with my friends at Sony/ATV,” remarked Mobley. “We have had tremendous success together over the years and I am confident we will again with Josh. I wanted to create the right team that felt the immediate passion that I did when I first heard Josh sing. Not only is he an incredible musician and gifted vocalist, he also has something special to say as a songwriter. Tom, Hannah, Josh, Troy and rest of the team are the exact right fit for us.”
Residents from throughout Floyd County are excited to see what comes next for Martin and his family as he embarks on his new journey with Sony/ATV.
