Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes addressed graduates during Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s commencement ceremony on Friday, May 6 at the Mountain Arts Center.


PRESTONSBURG – Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes and Jared Arnett, executive director of Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR) served as keynote speakers for Big Sandy Community and Technical College’s (BSCTC) commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 6-Saturday, May 7 at the Mountain Arts Center.

Grimes and Arnett were recognized as Ambassadors of BSCTC and was presented a commemorative medal by President Dr. Devin Stephenson and a piece of artwork by Tom Whitaker, a retired art professor at BSCTC.
