KSP makes drug arrests in Pike County

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) confiscated drugs in Pikeville on Tuesday.


PIKEVILLE – The Kentucky State Police made a felony drug arrest in Pikeville during the early evening hours on Tuesday.

The KSP Post 9 Criminal Interdiction Team received information that a quantity of marijuana would be transported to Pike County. Troopers contacted Christopher Higgins, 48 of Stockbridge, Michigan, in the parking lot of the Pikeville Food City. After a KSP canine unit alerted on Higgins vehicle, Troopers located and seized approximately eight pounds of marijuana. Higgins was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana over five pounds – first offense.

Higgins was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation by Trooper Bryson.
