Local students earn degrees from Cumberlands

WILLIAMSBURG – On Saturday, May 7, University of the Cumberlands conferred 745 degrees during their annual commencement ceremony: 200 bachelor’s degrees, 487 master’s degrees, and 14 doctorate degrees. The degrees conferred also included three associate’s degrees and 41 education specialists.

Graduates from Floyd County were Danielle Aldrich, of Wayland, who earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in P12 Special Ed LBD; Ashley Fite, of Prestonsburg, who earned a Master of Arts in Education degree in Teacher as Leader; and Meredith Metzger, of Harold, who earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Early Elementary Education P-5.

Located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; 10 pre-professional programs; ten graduate degrees distributed over eight areas, including two doctorates and seven master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
