IVEL – Tom’s Creek Free Will Baptist Church, located at 35 Chapel Drive at Ivel kicked off summer with a deep dive into Vacation Bible School.
The special weeklong bible series’ motto is Jesus Sees, Jesus Knows, Jesus Saves.
The event is being held nightly from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. began Monday, June 6 and runs through Friday, June 10 and is for pre-school through high school ages.
Submerged: Finding Truth Below the Surface, is the theme for the Vacation Bible School and church volunteers have turned the church into an underwater wonderland complete with sea turtles, octopus, and pool noodles made into underwater plants.
Pastor Tim McCoy and Vacation Bible School Director Devina Wise and the Tom’s Creek Free Will Baptist Congregation invite all preschool and school age children to attend. You do not have to be a member of the church for your child to participate.
Pre-school class is being taught by Kim Bowling and Jennifer Hall. Kindergarten is being taught by Amber Shepherd and Crystal Whitt.
First and Second Grade Class is being taught by Casey Woods and Tammy Roberts.
Third and Fourth Grade Class is being taught by Ashleigh Fields and Ashley Bartley.
Fifth and Sixth Grade Class is being taught by Myra Stephens and Scarlet King. Seventh through Ninth Grade class is being taught by Dee Dee McCoy and Kim Hamilton. Craft class is being taught by several volunteers including Sam Spradlin, Emma Burchett and Brittany Little.
Music Class also is being taught by several including Bobby Wise, Josh Hinkle and Brandon Osborn.
Games is being led by Elmer Hamilton and Roy Shepherd.
Friday night children will be treated to inflatables.
