Woman steals phone at McDowell IGA

The female who allegedly stole a cell phone from an IGA employee left the store in the car that is pictured.


McDOWELL – Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt and his department needs help in identifying the person believed to have committed theft while inside McDowell IGA. Sometime between the hours of 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. a lady wearing a blue Kentucky T-shirt, dark colored shorts and flip flops was inside the store and seen on camera taking a cell phone that belonged to a store employee.

The phone contains pictures of a recently lost loved one and deputies are asking for help in identifying the female and hopefully recovering the cell phone. The photos are sentimental to the store employee and cannot be replaced if lost or deleted. Deputies say the female left the store in a tan four-door car.

Any information about the crime is asked to contact Floyd County Sheriff’s office at 606-886-6171 make an anonymous call to the tip line at 606-949-2020.
