BSCTC to extend hours Monday-Thursday

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) is extending its hours Monday-Thursday. BSCTC held commencement ceremonies at the Mountain Arts Center (MAC) in early-May.


PRESTONSBURG – In an effort to better serve its students and conserve energy, Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) has announced extended summer hours for the months of June and July. All college campuses (Prestonsburg, Pikeville, Mayo and Hager Hill) will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays. All campuses will be closed on Friday.

“The extended hours will allow us to better serve our students, especially those who work and have families,” said Jimmy Wright, dean of student services. “Our students come from all walks of life and it is important that we adjust our schedules and services accordingly to make sure we are meeting their needs.”

Students can register now for the fall semester. Wright said all of the college’s students services, including admissions, financial, aid, advising and testing centers will be available extended hours. Students seeking 24/7 support can utilize BSCTC’s Student Service Center at 1-855-GO-BSCTC.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) has campuses in Prestonsburg, Paintsville, Hager Hill and Pikeville. BSCTC offers 30 programs and more than 200 credentials.
