Kentucky State Tourism to film commercial in Pikeville/Pike County

PIKEVILLE – Kentucky Tourism, in collaboration with Miles Media, Pike County Tourism CVB, Pikeville Main Street Program, Inc., Pikeville City Tourism and Pikeville/Pike County Government will be producing a promotional video for Pikeville/Pike County, Kentucky on Monday, June 20.

Two 30-second videos will be created, in addition to a five-minute commercial, which will be aired on television networks in West Virginia, Ohio and Northern and Western Kentucky. The videos will also be used extensively online and in social media outlets.

“These videos will showcase what Pikeville/Pike County has to offer, from our history to theatre and live music, our landscape and our people,” said Tony K. Tackett, Pike County Tourism CVB Executive Director. “Our ultimate goal is for visitors to rediscover our beautiful region.”

Minta Trimble, Pikeville Main Street Director, along with Main Street Board Member, Cody Johnson are coordinating a special night of entertainment and BBQ beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 20 at the Billy Johnson Expo Stage.

“When you bring great people together to showcase what our community has to offer, great things happen,” said Tackett. “These videos will be featured on high traffic television media, which will most certainly bring attention to our wonderful region. It’s a win/win for all of us to get our message across.”

Food City will be providing the BBQ and chips for the event. The smoked BBQ sandwiches and chips will be sold for $5.00 with all proceeds going towards the revitalization of Pikeville Main Street. Entertainment will be provided, featuring Thoze Guyz, Coaltown Dixie and Jason Goble.
