GRETHEL – Members of the Mud Creek Fire/Rescue attended State Fire School training in Lexington earlier in the month. The training took place at Rupp Arena and local fire fighters were put through rigorous test and training commands to ensure they are up to date and prepared when an emergency occurs.

Individuals that attended the training were Hunter Kidd, Jacob Bentley, Kagen Bentley, Tyler Rogers, Brad Smith and Mud Creek Fire Chief Will Parker.

Mud Creek Fire/Rescue has been working hard and making improvements which ultimately translates into savings on home owners insurance for the residents of Grethel. Caseton Adkins, Jacob Bentley, Kagan Bentley and Smith have also completed a fire hydrant check for 2016. This is an annual test that has to be done to meet ISO standards. It not only helps the department to know which hydrants are working properly along with their locations, but also ensures insurance rates do not increase.
