PRESTONSBURG – A beautiful day turned bad for one family when a loved one lost control of her vehicle and wrecked on Friday.
Carolyn Ford, age 80, according to a press release from the Prestonsburg Police Department, was driving her 2012 red Toyota Camry along 114 on N. Arnold Avenue at the intersection when her vehicle struck the curb. The car then proceeded to jump up onto the sidewalk, where it then travelled down the road hitting a light pole and running over the hill. After going over the hill, the vehicle flipped and landed on the its roof and eventually came to rest next to the Attorney General’s Eastern Kentucky Office.
Ford was transported to the Pikeville Medical Center.
The collision is still under investigation.

The Prestonsburg Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement, Floyd County Rescue Squad, Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, Jenny Wiley Park Ranger Department and Highway Safety Patrol assisted the Prestonsburg Police Department at the scene of the accident.
