PRESTONSBURG – For the 2015-2016 schoolyear, Highlands Health System partnered with Passport Health Plan to sponsor GoNoodle for elementary schools throughout the region.
GoNoodle is a program for teachers and parents that provides interactive learning activities for children. The lessons allow students to participate in exciting, physical desk-side sessions in the classroom. The program is successful in adding fun to a child’s school day while enabling them to learn through a unique process.
“We help kids channel their physical and emotional energy for good,” GoNoodle’s website states.
Over 500,000 teachers and 68,000 schools are currently using GoNoodle, and over 10 million students have had the opportunity to learn through GoNoodle.
GoNoodle provides monthly partner reports, giving statistics about Highlands’ utilization in the area over the past five months.
Participating schools achieved nearly 213,000 minutes of student physical activity in March. That is significant for valuable learning and healthy opportunities for children to be able to move around during their lengthy schoolday.
