KNOTT COUNTY – Motorists should expect to slow down along KY 550 in Knott County, starting at the junction of KY 899 over the next week.
Assistant Knott County Superintendent Mike Smith said crews will be pulling and cleaning the ditchline along KY 550. Motorists should watch for Highway District 12 maintenance workers and heavy equipment.
“We do not plan any road or lane closures,” Smith said, “but we will be working along the ditchline, very close to the highway. We ask people to be alert and cautious in the work zone area. Watch for workers close to the highway and for dump trucks and other equipment moving in and out of the area.”
The work is weather dependent, Smith said, so if there are rain delays, crews will resume ditching operations as soon as the rain abates.
