MELVIN – On July 13, Kentucky State Police (KSP) arrested Jeffrey Isaac on the charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance, third degree, first offense and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Thanks to tips from the community, KSP had been conducting an investigation into the illegal drug activity of Jeffrey Isaac and Alyssa Isaac. KSP obtained a search warrant on the couple’s residence located at 109 Rocky Hill Road in Melvin.
During the execution of the search warrant, Isaac was found to be in possession of Oxycodone, Morphine, Hydrocodone, and Xanax that was packaged for sale. He was also in possession of handguns and long guns.
Jeffrey Isaac was released on a $2,500 bond on July 13. In a sworn affidavit, Kentucky State Police Detective Scotty Hamilton stated the cash bonds posted by Scott DeWayne Tackett for Isaac and Alyssa Isaac included KSP buy money documented from controlled drug transactions. Review of the bills’ serial numbers revealed several matched from the serial numbers documented by the KSP detectives.
Isaac’s $2,500 bond was revoked and monies forfeited to Kentucky State Police. A new bond of $5,000 was set on July 15. Isaac posted bond and was released on July 16 on the following conditions: report to pretrial services, random drug testing, make all scheduled court appearances and do not leave Floyd County.
Isaac is due to return to court on July 27 at 9:30 a.m.
