PRESTONSBURG – The Floyd County Fiscal Court met in a special meeting on Wednesday to discuss various issues within the county. A leader in the community and a champion supporter of individuals with mental health issues and battered women, Mountain Comprehensive Care Center (MCCC) has been awarded several grants to build facilities in Floyd County to benefit local citizens.
The grant for Community Defined Solutions to Violence Against Women and the grant for Community Abuse Treatment Program have been awarded to MCCC. The Fiscal Court authorized the application for grant funding on behalf of MCCC and the grant for the Floyd County Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program has also been awarded to MCCC. Also in 2013, the Fiscal Court authorized the application for grant funding on behalf of MCCC and that the grant for Safe Havens: Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Program was awarded to MCCC.
Per the terms of each grant, all funding was sent to the Fiscal Court for disbursement to MCCC. Grant money requested for the Safe Havens: supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Program was $15,116.69. Payment in the amount of $12,521.78 was also requested and approved for the Solutions to Violence Against Women grant. The total of $27,638.27 was approved for disbursement by the Floyd County Fiscal Court to MCCC.
The next scheduled Floyd County Fiscal Meeting is slated for August 19 at 10 a.m.
