Floyd County Schools: Stuffed bus returned

Staff Report

PRESTONSBURG – Floyd County Schools Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb wants to thank Walmart in Prestonsburg for the “Stuff the Bus” campaign and its efforts to collect school supplies for students in Floyd County schools.

“The board team and I would like to thank our local Walmart and store manager Brad Akers for supporting our kids and our schools,” Webb commented on Wednesday. “We are happy to report that our bus returned with just over $3,000 in school supplies this morning and that Walmart contributed an additional $1,000 to our kids. The supplies will be divided among our schools and distributed throughout the district through our Family Resource and Youth Service Coordinators.”

“We’re happy to do anything we can to give kids the tools to help them be successful,” Walmart Managed Brad Akers said.

“We appreciate having amazing community partners like Brad and Walmart,” Webb added. They want to help give our kids tools and supplies to help them obtain world class educations.”
