May honored for service to KYCOM

PIKEVILLE – Walter E. May has been named this year’s John A. Strosnider, D.O., Memorial Lecturer.

May is the president and CEO of Pikeville Medical Center and was instrumental in the early development of the medical school.

The award acknowledges May’s service to the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) and the osteopathic profession. Presented annually, the award was established in honor of Strosnider, the medical school’s founding dean. Previous recipients include G. Chad Perry III, Burlin Coleman, Bennie Ray Bailey, Paul E. Patton, William H. Owens, Terry Dotson and Hal Smith.
