PRESTONSBURG – The Prestonsburg Rotary Club held a pancake breakfast at the Floyd County Rescue Squad over the weekend. Rotary club members sold around 250 breakfasts on Saturday morning with proceeds going towards helping fund their Christmas charity-related events.

The primary function of a rotary club is to provide services to its local community. Members are aware of the needs of the community through outreach and research and work together to develop solutions to meet those needs. Club members are encouraged to engage in service in the workplace, at home and in the community.

This year, the club plans to sponsor residents of Golden Years Rest Home located in Lackey as part of its Christmas program. The group hopes to raise enough funds to ensure each resident receives an outfit and an additional gift for Christmas.

The Prestonsburg Rotary Club meets every Thursday at noon at the Floyd County Rescue Squad.
