PRESTONSBURG – Floyd County Chamber of Commerce members welcomed a new business to the area this week. A ribbon-cutting was held for new chamber member Eastern Kentucky Credit Union on Monday.
Eastern Kentucky Credit Union, formally known as Kentucky West Virginia Gas Company Employees’ Federal Credit Union, changed names on April 1, said chairperson Jennifer Osborne.
“The change to Eastern Kentucky Federal Credit Union was a thoughtful and strategic move by management and the credit union’s board of directors, Osborne said. “This rebranding will allow our credit union more opportunities for growth in the region because we can add additional select employee groups as members.”
Eastern Kentucky Federal Credit Union is a federally regulated, non-profit credit union, established in 1969.
During the ceremony, the company’s manager, Felicia Woody, outlined the services to be offered.
“We offer low interest rate loans for cars, boats, campers and motorcycles and we can also offer a personal line of credit,” Woody said. “We have member discounts through our Invest in America program at national companies like General Motors, Sprint, DIRECTV, Members Auto and Homeowners’ Insurance and TurboTax.”
Woody added that, as a bonus, members are eligible for “discounted theme park and area attraction tickets.”
