FCSD announces tip line

PRESTONSBURG – The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department has set up a tip line to assist with crime reporting and prevention and help keep communities throughout Floyd County stay safe.

Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt announced the tip line late last week.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department encourages anyone to report suspicious activity and criminal behavior anonymously.

When announcing the tip line, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department released the following statement via social media: “No one knows your neighborhood better than you and we need your help to prevent the crimes that hurt your quality of life. We take all tips seriously, but Sheriff Hunt specifically seeks information about past crimes and ongoing criminal activity including drug trafficking. With your help we can work together to keep our families safe and criminals off the street.”

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department tip line is (606) 949-2020.

For emergencies, call the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department at (606) 886-6171 or 911.

For non-emergencies, call the department at (606) 886-6711.
