PRESTONSBURG – The City of Prestonsburg will hold an open forum meeting at the Mountain Arts Center on Monday, Sept. 14, beginning at 6 p.m. The upcoming open meeting was announced by the City of Prestonsburg on Monday.
All Prestonsburg citizens are encouraged to attend the meeting to hear about their city, including information on upcoming events. The forum meeting is open to the public.
In a local event from over the weekend, Prestonsburg Motorsports held a test and tune event at Paintsville-Prestonsburg Combs Field Airport on Saturday.
An organization made up of local and area drag racing enthusiasts, Prestonsburg Motorsports holds public meetings every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at city hall for races. The meetings are open to the public.
Classes for the 2015 Combs Airport Armdrop Drags are SST (Strictly Street Tire), SST+ (Strictly Street Tire/Power Adder), STX (Drag Radial Class), STX+ (Drag Radial/Power Adder) and AWD/4WD (All Wheel Drive/Four Wheel Drive).
Area drag racers will have an opportunity to compete in events during back-to-back months. Another Combs Airport Armdrop Drags event is set for Aug. 15.
The Star City Classic Car Cruise In will be held at the Mountain Arts Center (MAC) on Saturday. A popular event in past years, the Cruise In will begin at 11 a.m. at the MAC.
Prior to the Cruise In, the ‘Kids Back(pack) to School’ event will be held at StoneCrest Sports Park on Friday from 5-9 p.m. The first 300 kids in attendance at the event will receive a free backpack.
