PRESTONSBURG – Two students from Floyd County – Paige Lemaster (Prestonsburg High School) Natalie Lester (Allen Central High School) – placed in the regional Governor’s Cup competition and will advance to state level competition.
Floyd County Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb extended his congratulations.
“The board team and I are very proud of Paige (Lemaster) and Natalie (Lester) for advancing to state level competition,” Webb said. “Paige placed third in Composition and Natalie placed fifth in Arts & Humanities. We also want to congratulate the Prestonsburg High School Future Problem Solving Team for placing third and our All-Tournament Team members – Natalie Lester from ACHS, Grace Orsborn from BLHS, Caleb Johnson from PHS and Jacob Johnson from SFHS.”
The regional Governor’s Cup competition consists of students and teams from the following schools: Allen Central High School, Belfry High School, Betsy Layne High School, East Ridge High School, Johnson Central High School, Paintsville High School, Phelps High School, the Piarist School, Pike County Central High School, Pikeville High School, Prestonsburg High School, Shelby Valley High School, Sheldon Clark High School and South Floyd High School.
