PIKEVILLE – Jack Miner, MBA, director of the Venture Center at the University of Michigan, will provide a guest lecture on Entrepreneurs, Startups and Economic Development in Funding’s “Valley of Death.” The event is set for Thursday, Jan. 23, at 11:45 a.m. in the City View Café located in the Coal Building on the University of Pikeville campus.

Miner will share his ideas with the UPike family, business and community leaders and venture capitalists about how to develop thriving career and venture capital careers.

Miner works as a startup specialist helping to form new ventures based on physical sciences intellectual property. He coordinated the development, formation and funding of more than six startup companies launched during fiscal year 2013 while managing a portfolio of more than 20 other startup projects.
