Hall honored by Young Professionals of East Kentucky
PIKEVILLE – Young Professionals of East Kentucky (YPEK), a non-profit organization designed to promote networking, leadership and service in 32 east Kentucky counties, has selected Shawna Hall as the Young Professional of the Year in the field of education.
A native of Eastern Kentucky, Hall is a member of the staff at the Central Appalachian Institute for Research and Development (CAIRD), a non-profit public policy organization dedicated to driving long-term development strategies through applied research to alleviate economic distress in Eastern Kentucky and Central Appalachia.
Before joining CAIRD, Hall was a fleet manager for Alltech Inc. in Nicholasville, Ky., and previously served as the payroll manager for ACS Inc. in Pike County. Since 2004, Hall has worked for several Fortune 500 industries in accounting, human resources, payroll, budget management and operations.
A graduate of Alice Lloyd College, Hall is pursuing her M.B.A. through the University of Pikeville. She is a member of the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and 2012 graduate of the Leadership East Kentucky program. Hall also works with the East Kentucky Leadership Foundation and volunteers with the American Red Cross.
Young Professionals of East Kentucky is a non-profit organization aimed at bringing together today’s young leaders to develop forward thinking, innovative approaches to improve the communities throughout the region. YPEK sponsors regional forums, issue-based committees, and networking events.
