PRESTONSBURG — No one was hurt, after a truck plowed through a plate-glass window Monday morning at Advance Auto Parts.

Parts manager Mike Hunter was working the front register around 11:30 a.m., when he said he heard a “big, loud crash,” but said he had no idea what had just happened.

“We thought something had fallen against the window,” Hunter said. “But when we went around the corner, there was a big Chevy pickup instead.”

Hunter said a customer pulling into the parking lot accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. The resulting collision knocked out two windows and pushed a beam several feet into the store.

Manager Benita McKenzie said she was thankful that the accident wasn’t any worse.

“I’m just glad no one got hurt,” McKenzie said. “I’m glad no one was on a ladder back there, because we’re back there all the time.”
