Martin man killed in Friday night car accident

ALLEN — A Floyd County man was killed last weekend, after the vehicle he was driving went into a ditch and overturned onto its roof.


According to Kentucky State Police, Post 9 in Pikeville received a call of a single vehicle accident on Route 1428, Friday, Sept, 27, in Allen.


Trooper Adam Hensley responded to the accident and information obtained at the scene indicates that 29-year-old Brenan McKinney. of Martin, was traveling east on Route 1428, when the vehicle he was operating struck an earth embankment and overturned, finally coming to final rest on its top. In the course of the accident, McKinney was partially ejected from the vehicle and was trapped underneath.


McKinney was pronounced dead at the scene by Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson.


The accident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Adam Hensley.
