PRESTONSBURG — The Floyd County Fiscal Court will meet in special session Thursday, with several bids and payments making up the bulk of the agenda.
The court is expect to award bids on replacing the courthouse’s boiler and chiller units. The building has been operating without any heating or cooling for some time recently, although milder weather has made that condition bearable.
The court will also open bids related to asbestos removal.
Magistrates will be asked to approve an application for grant funding of an extension of the Harold sewer project, and well as pass along state funds for phase III of the sewer project.
Also slated to receive state funds are Middle Creek, Southeast and Betsy Layne fire departments, as well as Drift Park.
The court will also be asked to approve grant payments to Mountain Comprehensive Care Center, two requests to open roads, and a hiring at the Floyd County Detention Center.
The court is scheduled to meet beginning at 10 a.m., in the Floyd County Courthouse courtroom.
