PRESTONSBURG — Two people have been injured following a Friday afternoon accident at the intersection of Ky. Rt. 1428 and Rt. 302 in Prestonsburg.

Details are sparse, pending the Prestonsburg Police Department’s investigation into the crash, but Officer Gerald Clark says it currently appears that the white Pontiac G6, being driven by a minor with a child on board, was headed northbound when a black GMC Sonoma, also with two occupants, turned in front of them.

The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were taken to Highlands Regional Medican Center for their injuries, the severity of which is not yet known.

The driver and passenger in the sedan will also likely be evaluated at a hospital, but did not seem to have sustained injuries in the crash.
