PRESTONSBURG — A man already in jail and facing questioning over alleged contraband found himself in even more hot water, after being accused of attacking jail employees.

Timothy Hall, 45, of Prestonsburg, now faces five counts of third-degree assault of a corrections officer and one count of third-degree terroristic threatening over the alleged incident.

According to his arrest warrant, Floyd County Detention Center employees were attempting to move Hall to a segregated area of the jail, following a disturbance in the cell where he was originally held. The disturbance was a result of Hall attempting to collect debts from other inmates for contraband, the warrant alleges.

However, the warrant alleges that, as employees Nathan Hall, David Duncan, Levi Hamilton, Larry Johnson and Colby Little attempted to move him, Hall became combative with the officers, “as he kicked, punched and grabbed a deputy jailer around the neck.” At one point, Hall allegedly became so aggressive toward Little that a Taser was ultimately used against him.

The warrant further alleges that after Hall recovered from the Taser, he continued to threaten Little, reportedly saying, “I don’t use fake guns. When I get out, I am going to kick your ass.”

Hall appeared in Floyd District Court last Friday for a preliminary hearing, during which his case was referred to a grand jury for further consideration.

Hall remains incarcerated in the Floyd County Detention Center.
